This is Deputy Digby Pancake. If there is one thing I know like the back of my paw, it’s time. When it’s time for dinner. When it’s time to start thinking about dinner. When it’s time to watch Girl Person make dinner. I love her Cooking Channel. I’m glad this RV came with its own window seat to watch.
Sometimes, a commercial comes on when I’m watching Girl Person cooking. And it gives me time to think. I’ve come to the conclusion that there isn’t enough time in the day to do all the things that the persons want to do. Maybe you know the feeling.
I don’t really know the feeling. Actually. I figure that if there’s time to do something, I do it. If there’s not enough time, I don’t do it. For instance. There is always enough time to irritate Sheriff Brickle. Always enough time to eat. Always enough time to sleep. Everything else is like syrup on a pancake. If there’s room, it will slide in between the other stuff. I can’t magically make more time. I’m no genie.
If the persons know there isn’t enough time, why do they try to do all the stuff? Girl Person always thinks she has more time to get stuff done like write the blog for us, cook, clean and hike. We have no internet and our phones don’t work here at camp except for a few spots in the woods. So she thought of the idea to work in the woods when we hike. You know. Like multitask.
But the problem is, when she tries to do that, Brickle refuses to walk. We get caught up in our leashes. Girl Person trips over her own feet. She seems to think that there are two of her. It does not work.
Brickle doesn’t like the fact that she isn’t devoting her immediate attention on us. He says that if you hike, you hike. You don’t try to answer emails. If you answer emails, you don’t hike. And well. Girl Person got the hint. She wasn’t good at being more than one person at a time. She wasn’t being good to anyone that way.
If you are spending time with others, give them your time. You see, it’s the most valuable thing that you have to give.
And if you find yourself without enough time? Ask yourself what you can leave out for the next day. Today, we are going to a cave! Is there something else that we should be doing? Probably. But sometimes, you have to let time tick tock, and rock the day.
My time is your time. That’s what Girl Person said today. Who can you give your time to today? I’m sorry thinking they will be surprised at the gift.
