We’re Going Places. You’re Going Places.

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  Usually, Sheriff Brickle gets to announce the important stuff.  And I serve as backup to the important stuff.  But since my foot has been hurt for the past two weeks, and I have been the best boy ever, the persons thought that I should get to do something pretty special.  I get to tell you about our new plans for the next few weeks.  And I get to ask you this question.  Are you ready to go? Start packing! Where are we going?  I will get to that, because I know you are curious.  But bear with me.  I am pretty slow with this orange shoe lately.

You have been with us to some pretty amazing places the past few years and have met some pretty amazing animal rescuers.  We have had our ups and our downs.  We had our breakdowns, that is for sure, and I am sure we will have more.  One thing that we have found out is that the world is much smaller than even what we originally thought. And more places had good pancakes than what I thought too.

Before we started this trip, to think of traveling as much as we have would have seemed impossible.

But now, we have been to most of these places many times over. And if the world is so small, then why can’t we see even more of it?  That is what we started thinking about.  Someone said all who wander are not lost.  Well, sometimes we are.  Yeah, sometimes we are lost. But we carry on.

The persons have thought about moving to an Italy place for a little while now. When we couldn’t find a house after our Adventure Of A Lifetime tour, they started thinking outside the box…or outside the RV box.  Girl Person has always loved Italy, France and other places in Europe.  Should we think about living there?  But how would Brickle and I get there?  And where would we live?  The persons really started to seriously think.  They interrupted many naps of mine with their conversations.  And they finally figured out the answer.  They needed to go to Italy and see for themselves if Brickle and I would like it.  And the best place in Italy that they thought we would enjoy?  A place with hiking, water, mountains and good food all in one.

This definitely sounded good to us too.  But the persons knew that they had to make sure.   This was going to be a lot of work to get there and to get us there happily and safely.  They needed to go and check it out.  Also, they knew that we have been working very hard lately and moving around quite a bit.  Sheriff Brickle made a few suggestions.

First, he suggested that the Big Blue Treat Wagon get to rest up for two weeks.

And he also suggested that he and I could stay with our friend on her property in the woods for those two weeks as long as the persons sent our food, our blankies and all of our treats.

I was surprised that he thought we could live without each other for two weeks.  But Sheriff Brickle stated this was very important.  He said he was not going to get in an airplane no matter what.  And I don’t want to either.  The persons reassured us that if they decided that Italy was the best place for us all to live that there was another way we could get there if we saved up our money! And when I heard about a cruise with all the room service I could want and walks and naps? Oh, this sounded much better than a plane to me.  I started to get excited too.  Could this really be possible?

So where do you fit into this?  We would like you to come with the persons to Italy at the end of next week.  Since they are trying to spend the least amount of that paper stuff money, they are first going to fly into where I have always wanted to go…London! Then they will fly over to a place in Italy called Milan.

Then they will drive from there in a very tiny car to that place they keep talking about…I am not even going to try and pronounce it or bark it!

One thing that Brickle and I know is that for us to be happy, the persons have to be happy.  And for the persons to be happy, we have to be happy.  So as we try to find that happiness and the journey there, we hope that you will come with us.  We are all trying to find our happy place, aren’t we?  Sometimes, it seems impossible.  And sometimes, where we thought our happy place would be is wrong.  But you have to explore all of your options and have no regrets.  We all have the same amount of hours in each day.  Are you where you want to be?

So what’s the plan? Don’t worry, the blogs won’t stop, even for this time!  Everything that happens will include you! And we left plenty of room for your suitcase.  Because Brickle and I are going to sit this one out.

Here is the schedule from Brickle.

Saturday, November 3rd we are leaving Rome, Georgia to make our way to that Florida place.

Monday, November 5th we arrive in Florida.

Friday, November 9th, The Big Blue Treat Wagon RV gets to go to its vacation spot and Sheriff Brickle and I go to our aunt’s house in the woods to start our spaw treatments.

Saturday, November 10th, the persons leave Tampa, Florida to London, England.

Sunday, November 12th, the persons fly from London, England to Milan, Italy.  Then they will driving to the Cinque Terre place and rent a room in a vineyard.

From November 12-21 they will be looking for a house for us and making sure that Brickle and I would like it.  We hope you will help them on their journey!

November 21st, the persons fly back from London, England to Tampa, Florida.  They will get the Big Blue Treat Wagon RV and then…

November 22nd, Brickle and I come home!  And the persons will have their decision on our next journey.

Just a few years ago, this would have seemed very impossible to the persons.  But now, life without adventure seems impossible.  Learning about ourselves and what we truly want in life is a hard thing.  Because sometimes, you try to push away what you want to make someone else happy, or not to disappoint someone.  But if you are not happy with your choices, you can’t be happy.  We are the same person no matter where we are, but it’s the places we are that make us better.  We go places. You go places. Let’s go!  Actually, me and Brickle will be on vacation, but you will still get updates from our aunt too.  So are you ready? Let’s do this!

Well, I suspected there was something about Italy in these plans, since Girl Person has mentioned Italy from time to time, but still didn’t know how you boys were gonna get there. I am trying to find a way to transport my two cats to Japan without making them fly. I guess I will have to go online more and see what I can find that is within a reasonable price range. Going all the way across the Pacific on a boat is a really long haul!
