Celebrate. Come On!

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  I have to tell you something.  I haven’t been feeling my absolute best lately.  I know that you may not know this, because I am full of the smiles.

But the truth is the truth as Sheriff Brickle would say.  And well, despite some aches and pains and some days that are better than others, life is still dern good.  So dern good that I can’t stand it.  Because to me, every day should be celebrated with the good.  And even when the bad is going on.  I would like to elaborate, but first a tune.

Sometimes I feel like I am being stared at… because I am being stared at.

Girl Person keeps asking me how I feel, then she hugs me and gives me kisses.  And more kisses.  Boy Person even took a nap with me on Sunday when it should have been FunDay.

But any day that you can take a nap is good for me.  Every moment is a precious moment when you are taking a good nap.  Is there such a thing as a bad nap?

If you know our family, you know that we always tell it like it is, because like it is is good enough for us.  It is happy enough for us.  It is real enough for us.  But too much real all of the time can be a little overwhelming, huh?  Girl Person likes to listen to the radio and the news, and sometimes, even I have a hard time tuning it out.  It seems like the only thing that persons like to talk about is bad stuff.  They generally don’t talk about pancakes or syrup or even naps.  And this gets boring to me, so I was happy when she finally turned it off yesterday.

Girl Person said that sometimes, you forget that there is so much good when you just talk about the bad.  When you talk about the bad in the world, how bad you feel, or maybe even the little things that get us down.  Because when it all adds up, bad, bad, bad only equals bad.  There is no room for good.

Girl Person says that all bad all the time makes you even feel guilty.  You hear about all of the bad and it may make you feel like you don’t deserve any good.  But I am here to tell you.  If we can, no matter what day it is, no matter who we are, we each deserve a little celebration every day.  Not one of us can change the world.  But we can make our world better.  And it starts with each one of us.  It’s time to come together.  And make me some pancakes.  They don’t make themselves, you know.  If you have flour, if you have syrup, celebrate! Come on!

It is as simple as that, you say?  I say why make everything so complicated?  Persons seem to think that the world is much more complicated than it actually is.  They think the world is so much bigger than it is.  But the world has a lot of people and dogs and animals like you and me.  Me and you.  And if we keep listening to the bad, we will forget the good.  So even though right now, my aging bones are a hurtin’ a little, I am still celebrating.  Because I still have dinner every night.  I still have breakfast everyday.  Treats, and yes, naps.  And it’s that easy. And good enough for me.  That’s the best evening news you will hear.  Even all day.

Good morning sweet Digby and handsome Brickle. I have to tell you Digby you have some great dance/celebration moves. You are making a lot of good points today. We have to think about the good things in our lives. I think most of us have a bit more aches and pains but there are others who have worst problems. I’m going to follow your lead and try by durndest to see more good than bad. I’m going to try to smile like you do because you are so happy. Brickle is a more serious soul, but I know he’s happy and loves his family and his life. We should always be thankful for what we are have. Hugs and love ❤️🐾
