Marco? Polo.

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  Well, we are still alive in Boy Person’s care and that is a plus.  I never thought that I would say this, but he has done a pretty good job so far.  He does things different than Girl Person.  I don’t seem to get as many treats.  I also seem to be cleaner, and get my teeth brushed more.  And although we miss Girl Person, guess what?  She is coming back today!!!  Am I howling?  You bet I am.  You bet I am.

But yesterday, Girl Person and Gandma called us to give us an update on the house search in Amelia Island, Florida.  They spent all day looking at options to see if our family could possibly live there.  They drove four hours from the Tampa place and looked at houses.  Many, many houses and many, many hours.

They even looked at warehouses to redo.

And then old radio stations they maybe could redo.

And then they looked at houses falling to the ground.

They looked at houses shaped like boats.

Now.  Were all of these houses for sale?  Admittedly, no.  But when Girl Person has her mind set on something, you can’t stop her.  And when she is with Gandma, the two of them definitely have no fear.  They asked people about properties.  They knocked on doors.  They left notes on doors.

So.  Question.  Did they get anywhere?  Not yet.  But Girl Person told us that she narrowed it down to an area that she thinks we would be happy at. And she is determined to see if anything pops up for sale…but it would have to be soon.  We can’t wait forever.

I have to tell you.  This house search is really exhausting me.  I feel like the persons need to find a place to land…and soon.  We used to think that we would only be happy in the California place.  But after a year of traveling, we have changed.  And we realize that wherever we plant ourselves, it won’t be forever.  But we do want to rest a little bit and get settled and enjoy some time together doing projects and making over a house, and doing all kinds of fun stuff.  This Amelia Island place seems like a real possibility. But we still have looking to do in this California place too.

For Girl Person, she has had a fun time with Gandma and her family and seeing Cuddles. She got to spend time with them and concentrate on having fun and they even made looking for houses fun.  As her and Gandma were discussing how they just ran away from what looked like an empty serial killer house, they sat down exhausted and watched a little TV.  That is when a commercial game on with kids playing a game called Marco Polo in the pool.

Gandma looked at Girl Person very seriously and told her she had always wondered what in the world people were doing playing that game.  Girl Person did not understand. Girl Person, her brother and her cousins had played that game forever.  And Gandma didn’t know what it was? What did she think that they were doing?  Discussing history lessons?  Girl Person lost it.  They both started laughing so hard and couldn’t stop and she realized that just like Marco Polo, they were explorers too.  Exploring a possibility of a new life…and it was fun.  She was making it too serious.  And as the day ended, Girl Person knew even if she didn’t find a house here, this was a day with her mom she would always remember.

Well, today is the day that Girl Person comes home.  And although her time away was short, she has more work to do here.  Let’s look at some more houses.  Now for California. Show us what you got!

I’m not certain the place you’re getting your information, however great topic. I needs to spend a while studying much more or understanding more. Thank you for excellent info I was in search of this info for my mission.

I’m so glad that Girl Person enjoyed herself!! And see, you boys survived, Boy Person would never have it any other way!!! You guys got a little bonding time in as well!! Truth be told, I’ve never in my life understood The Marco Polo Game either, but I was always too embarrassed to ask, and no, my family and my son and his friends never played it either, so I’ve always wondered “What’s the point, what does it MEAN?!” 😀 You don’t have to answer that, but this commercial hasn’t enlightened me either!!! I’m so glad you are all reunited and it feels so good!! Enjoy your evening back together again!!! Much love!!! xoxoxox <3 <3 <3 <3
