Have You Ever Seen The Rain?

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  And today is Tuesday, which is not Monday.  And for the persons, well, Tuesday just seems like a better day.  But for my Girl Person, some days, the fog seems to roll in, even on a Tuesday.  Even on a Saturday.  And sometimes, even on Sunday Funday.  The depression monster is back again.

We are in this Bodega Bay, California place, and we will be parked here at this spot in Sonoma County till at least the end of next week. It is was good we found a RV park to let us stay this long, but every few days we have to move campsites. At least we don’t have to go far, and we are on our favorite place…the water.

But when you have fog that you carry with you all the time like Girl Person, sometimes, sitting still is a hard thing to do.  Because it makes you stop and think.  And thinking is hard to do when you are so overwhelmed I hear with some depression monster. I don’t seem to get overwhelmed.  At all.

Fog is the norm here in Bodega Bay, California. And it is a sight to see it roll in and out.  It makes you appreciate the sunshiney when it comes for those few hours.  And that is how I feel when Girl Person’s depression monster doesn’t show up.  It hasn’t made an appearance in awhile, but when she feels it coming back, it is time to step up the happy.  Which means more hiking, more eating spaghetti, her favorite food, and more time with me and Sheriff Brickle.  Because if she doesn’t deal with the fog, soon after, the rain comes.  I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?

If you have to deal with the rain, it can be hard to get dry again.  So you have to watch the weather.

Someone told me long ago
There’s a calm before the storm
I know it’s been comin’ for some time
When it’s over so they say
It’ll rain a sunny day

Girl Person says that she knows a lot of people deal with the fog.  And knowing the sun will come back out keeps her going.  She told me that so many persons deal with this depression monster, no matter where they live or who they are.  When she feels like this, she tells people, because she wants everyone to know that they are not alone.  The depression monster doesn’t care when it comes to visit..even now in our most happy place. And she is upset because she doesn’t want the depression monster to ruin our time here in California.  Because we don’t know how long we can stay…even though we want to.

We know that we have a lot to do in this California place that we have been waiting to come to for so long.  We have our rescue visit with Soft Paws Rescue this week in Santa Rosa, California.  We have been looking for a place to live here, but the persons say that even a simple way of life here is half a million bajillion dollars.  So what do we do?  Where do we go?  This depression monster is trying to get us down and foggy and we won’t let the rain come.  We have too much to be thankful for, when so many people are dealing with real rain and real problems in that Texas place.

Yesterday and days before
Sun is cold and rain is hard
I know been that way for all my time
‘Til forever, on it goes
Through the circle, fast and slow,
I know it can’t stop, I wonder

So…to make ourselves feel better, the way we do it is this.  We help others!  So how can we help Texas?  Here are a few links to check out today if you want to help the animals in that Texas place.  Helping others always helps us.  And we will be waiting till tomorrow for Girl Person’s sunshiney to come back.  Sometimes, we all need a day to stop and appreciate the good we have, to imagine if it wasn’t there tomorrow.  We are sure that the ones in Texas are feeling that too.  Now. Let’s see what we can do.

Ohhhh, precious Girl Person, I know only too well. No doubt the monster is coming during your “happy place” in Sonoma for so many reasons. First, the expectations and the “getting there.” Then the “being there.” Then, it’s your last state, so of course there is going to be TONS of reflecting. And knowing what I know about your family, Deputy, no doubt what’s happening in Texas is weighing on all of you. And that monster really doesn’t care who you are, where you are, when you are, it’s got you. I appreciate, as always, you sharing it, because yes, that does help. And like Scarlett O’Hara “Tomorrow is another day!!!!” 😀 Love to you all, hugs to Girl Person. Maybe she should just let the rain out, sometimes that helps me. xoxoxoxoxo <3 <3 <3 <3
