What’s In Your Bucket?

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle.  Some days start out quite ordinary.  Some days start out quite foggy.  As foggy as a Northern California morning.

We have had a lot of foggy days lately in fact, literally and mentally.  This adventure is coming to a close, but we still have a rescue to visit here in California at the end of the month.  And we still have our daily struggles of trying to find camping spots, keeping the RV going and keeping us going.  Yes, it is making us a bit foggy.  We also still have Mario Mouse somewhere on board with us.  And that, yes, is a struggle.  Where is he?!  We hear you Mario, and why won’t you eat the peanut butter or chocolate?  Tonight, I hear Girl Person is going to try and make some spaghetti.

But with everything still going on, and as we are trying to find somewhere to park for a few months in Sonoma (impossible), we are stilling filling our bucket.  Are you?

IMG_3708We have received a few messages as of late asking us what in the world we are doing.  In fact, a new fan asked us yesterday if we were fulfilling something called a bucket list for dogs.  Bucket?  Deputy Digby was intrigued.  What could he fill his with?  So he started looking.  He found an old slice of pizza, a dead clam, and a pile of poop, orgin unknown.  He put them in his bucket, yesterday.IMG_3889.JPG

But huh? Bucket list?  The persons say we do not have such a thing.  They said if they have learned anything on this trip, it is that if you wait to do things on some list, the time may not come to do them.  And if you are simply making a list of things you think that you should do…things that you should see, because maybe it will impress people or something, don’t.  Your bucket should be filled now.  Your bucket should have something in it every day.  It should be filled with things you love and with the people you love. Those people may not be here tomorrow.

However, you may choose to leave out the old pizza and unknown poop.  I am.

Some dig for the meaning of life.  Some like Deputy Digby, dig for gophers in California.

If you have something that you want to do, whether you think it is ordinary or not, do it.  Don’t wait until tomorrow.  Live today and fill your bucket with the important things.  Things you love, things that are important.  Every day should have a bucket.  Because you may not get that bucket tomorrow.

Our bucket this week is filed with more driving I suppose.  We are here in Manchester, California until Thursday.  The only campgrounds we could find for the next couple of weeks are first in Ft. Bragg and then in Sacramento.  We are happy we found somewhere to park until Sonoma.  But we can’t wait to see it again.  I am pretty sure that the persons’ buckets will be filled with wine.
