Mamma Mia…Here We Go Again. Con Te Partiro.

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. Well, we have another hitchhiker.  Or do we?

Mamma mia, here I go again
My my, how can I resist you?
Mamma mia, does it show again
My my, just how much I’ve missed you?

So.  As if we didn’t have enough mouths to feed around here, apparently, we have an Italian mouse who I will call now Mario. Mario Mouse likes tomatoes.  He ate one in our kitchen drawer when we were driving down the road.  Mario Mouse likes garlic.  He tore some up as we were sleeping.

I‘ve been angry and sad about things that you do
I can’t count all the times that I’ve told you “we’re through”

And Mario Mouse likes to wake us up in the middle of the night. I heard him singing. I didn’t sing back, folks.  I got up, folks.

Con Te Partiro. (That means time to say goodbye in Italian, y’all).

Now, you see, to Girl Person, this should not have seemed like such a shocker.  She should have known that the half eaten tomato was the result of Mario Mouse’s antics, and not the worm she originally thought.  She also should have realized that the garlic tore up all over the place was the result of Mario Mouse as well, and not from RV turbulence going down the road.  So when Mario Mouse decided to sing some opera in the middle of the night Friday, I got up because the persons were sure sleeping thru it.  Boy Person knows when I alert him, to listen.  And he heard him, having a Mario Mouse party all over the RV.

Mario Mouse seems to be one very confused mouse, as well, he also has extremely clean ears.  After we heard him partying, we searched and searched for his nest.  And we sure did find it.

So let’s review here.  One.  Mario Mouse is Italian. He likes to sing opera, and he is apparently making a nice red sauce.  Two.  Mario Mouse has very clean ears and even built his house out of cutips.  And three?  Mario Mouse is a mystery.  Because we can’t find him.  We don’t hear him.  And Mario Mouse? We have been through this before.

We think you are gone.  But you always find your way back.

Yes, I’ve been brokenhearted
Blue since the day we parted
Why, why did I ever let you go?
Mamma mia, even if I say
“Bye bye, leave me now or never”
Mamma mia, it’s a game we play
“Bye bye” doesn’t mean forever

So hear me out Mario Mouse.  If you are still here, we implore you to stay here in Trinidad, California.

There are nice beaches, nice people, redwood forests…houses for mice.

You get my drift.  It is the premier vacation destination for a mouse.

You see, we have enough going on the next few weeks and we have already had to pay $10 extra a day at each campground here for me and Digby.  We don’t have any more money for a mouse.  We finally got our campsite booked first for today to Thursday in Manchester Beach.  Then Thursday we get to Ft. Bragg.  Then the next Wednesday we go to Sacramento till the 22nd.  And then, Sonoma…and we have no where to stay at that point.  So we have enough to do.  We don’t need to be cleaning up your cutips, however, we would like to try your red sauce.  I personally like fettuccine and Digby likes ziti.  I suggest you pair it with the fettuccine.  Obviously, I have to make culinary suggestions because you don’t like the peanut butter we tried to lure you out with and that is not a good sign.

So Mario Mouse? Con te partiro.  It is time to say goodbye.  Is parting such sweet sorrow? I wish I could hear your answer, but since you stole all of our cutips, well, I can’t hear because my ears are dirty.  I also guess we won’t know if you are still with us until we get to Manchester Beach.  Did I mention Boy Person is not an excellent driver?

Check our Facebook page for updates today as we have a VERY LONG drive…about 6-7 hours.  It is going to be hard, but we are in the final stages of our trip and we thank you for sticking with us.  We do not thank Mario Mouse. Obviously.

Oh, I’m so sorry, I laughed and loved this way too much!! What if it was the same mouse all along, and he just loved you all so much it really was “such sweet sorrow” parting from you?!! And he’s learned to cook along the way from Girl Person!?? And I was a Mario Brothers fanatic back in the day, sweet re-visit!! And please, let ABBA clothing never come back??!! And nice pairings, Sheriff, but yeah, if he doesn’t like peanut butter, he’s NOT to be trusted!! And, finally, you ALWAYS have somewhere to go after Sonoma, precious family!! You have a POSSE of family right here! Love you all, safe travels!!! I hope you can hear me!!!! xoxoxoxo <3 <3 <3 <3

Reese cups work better than plain peanut butter to catch a mouse. Reese cups are all my husband uses and we get about 4 mice a year (I think my son put up a mouse welcome sign – lol)
    Reese cups WORK.
