The Answer Is Blowing In The Wind

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle.  Although it is very, very cold in this Oklahoma place, it is our last, full day here and we are gonna live it up.  By live it up I mean the usual.  Arresting.  The wind was so crazy here yesterday that I arrested it numerous times. When campers walk by and laugh at a Sheriff, it is enough to get me in a bad mood.  If I weren’t having so much fun arresting.

I have been through many states on this Adventure Of A Lifetime so far.

How many roads must a man walk down
Before you call him a man

Uh, I was a man when I was a baby. But I tell you my friends, I have never felt wind like this in my fur.  Is it possible this wind accentuates my handsome?  The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.

For me, so many questions seem unanswered as we plan to leave this Oklahoma place.  First of all, is the man that sings every loud song in that musical “Oklahoma” riding around here somewhere in a surrey? I will have nightmares about that always.  In fact, I pretty much felt he was behind me getting covered by this rug yesterday.  He is to blame for everything here in my opinion.  With a fringe on top. I am not posting that song here again.  Ok, I will. You need to know who to look out for.  It is that serious.

Also, why are there so much changes in weather here?  One hour it is windy.  One hour it pours down rain.  The next hour it freezes.  Then it feels like summer. This is all in one day, I might add.  It changes more than my moods. Do people that live here in this Oklahoma place realize the craziness of this? How do you dress?  Someone told Girl Person she needed to buy some clothes.  I agree, she definitely needs to put on some pants.

Even Digby could stand to do that.  For real.  You say that dogs don’t wear pants?  Let’s make an exception.

Yes, ‘n’ how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn’t see
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

I might want to get serious here for a moment and talk about something.  Yesterday, the persons went to a place to learn about the Chickasaw Indians that live here in Oklahoma.

Girl Person says that in school, she learned how Native Americans were sent to Oklahoma and how hard it was for them.  She also said that hearing firsthand what they went through and how they lived was very eye opening.  She said that travel is a good way to learn, but even more so, to learn with your heart.

Yes, ‘n’ how many years can some people exist
Before they’re allowed to be free

We may hear of things in the news that make us upset.  Or hear about people who are mistreated or going through bad things.  You may think that those things are happening very far away.  But something else we have learned on this trip is that our world is pretty small.  Those people are real.  Those people are like you.  And they matter.

Yes, ‘n’ how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky
Yes, ‘n’ how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry

Oklahoma has taught us many things.  First of all, have many different kinds of clothes.  Secondly, look out for singing men in the bushes.  Third, don’t get attacked by a rug in a windstorm.  And also.  Open your eyes.  Look around you.  Appreciate.  Learn.  Listen.  Because the questions you have about life are right in front of you if you open your eyes and heart. If you have questions about your own life and the journey you have taken so far, learn about others and where their journey has taken them.  Also, remember how handsome I am and how you will never know the answer to how this can be.

The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind

Ok.  Report.  Tomorrow, we are leaving for that Texas place.  We have a long drive and Texas is big, y’all.  So for a few days, we will be in Waco. Then, we will be headed to Texas Hill Country and Pedernales State Park and yep. Texas Wine Country!  Our Texas picked rescue is called the Humane Society Of Central Texas! They are trying to save dogs like this here from their local Animal Control that will be in danger of losing their lives if more adoptions don’t happen. They can’t free up space to help unless they get more fosters. And adopters to empty kennels! You know the drill. Let’s help them.  Go to their website if you can help. Please. http://humanesocietycentraltexas.org.  Keep reading below. We have something for you, fans.

Sheriff, as a lifelong Okie I will tell you that we tell visitors”if you don’t like the weather in Oklahoma stick around a couple of hours and it will change!” Although I will say it has been more “changey” this year than usual!
Hope you enjoyed your stay here. We do have some of the nicest people in the world and many shelters need help.
Also I believe you could find the “surrey with the fringe on top” in our state museum should you wish to arrest it! Love your blogs! Good luck in that Texas place…watch out for those Longhorns. You know Sooners and Longhorns do not like each other except when it comes to dog rescue!

Oh, Sheriff, I feel like I’ve been cheating on you, because you are always the Stoic and Handsome Straight Man, so necessary but sometimes ignored. Because YOU ARE A FORCE!!! I love you always too. Other than “You.Are.Arrested.”, I now think my other favorite line you’ve ever said, is “Uh, I was a man when I was a baby.”…..I know, you have to be hard, even when we love you so……whew! Okay, thank you, Sheriff Brickle, for all of the wonderful information on the Chickasaw Indians and Please, Family, be so safe on your travels, take your time, and I can’t wait for your next blog!!!! Love you Alll!!!!! xoxooxxoxoxox <3
