Everyone Is From Somewhere

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  You may notice that we are still in this Oklahoma place.  Seems as though the bad weather a few weeks ago threw us off of our schedule when we were trying to leave that Louisiana place. But since we are in Oklahoma until Wednesday, we thought we would celebrate it before going to that Texas place.  Are you still with us?  Good.  Good.  I hear when you are in Oklahoma, you have to sing this song pretty much every day.

I had no idea what a surrey was, but Girl Person told me that it is kinda like what our Big Blue Treat Wagon RV is.  Like a car or a carriage or something. Well, unless the “fringe on top” is a pancake, this guy singing is not getting in.  Is he somewhere in Oklahoma?  I locked the doors, just in case he tries to take me in his surrey.  He frightens me because he sings everything.  Is that what you have to do in Oklahoma too? Please don’t tell Girl Person that.  If she starts singing, we may get kicked out of here before Wednesday.

I was thinking that it seems no matter what state we go to, or even town that we go to, someone is from there! We are so surprised at how much our fans love where they grew up.  They seems to remember the good things about their home, and we have been fortunate to jog some memories for people.  It’s the only jogging I will ever do in fact.  Especially since Girl Person made us some Oklahoma Baked “Fry Bread” For Dogs yesterday.  If you missed her cooking, you can still catch it here.  You will want to eat this whether you are in Oklahoma or anywhere. And you can also find the recipe here because Girl Person pretty much messed up filming.  The cold weather made her go cuckoo and she was looking out for that singing man in the bushes with a surrey.

Well, we have been on the road since May.  And although we are missing home, it warms our hearts to hear our fans excited about the places we visit when they say they grew up there, or that they were born there.  It somehow makes us feel a little less homesick knowing we can make others happy.  When we visited Ada, Oklahoma last week, we found out that some country singer was from there, even though it was a really small town.  We wonder if he misses his home too in Oklahoma. Is this the same man with the fringe on top?

Everyone is from somewhere.  No matter where we are, we try to remember that this “somewhere” is special to someone, including where we are now in Sulpur, Oklahoma.

We have been given the chance to not only see this country first hand, but to see it with love from your eyes.  Thank you for helping us see the “home” in every where we go.  We hope that you will remember your home with fondness or find that your new home is great because there is no man there with a surrey or fringe on top. Look out for him though, you never know how far that surrey could take him.

Thanks again to the people and animals at PAWS N Ada in Ada, Oklahoma.  The latest episode of Stop Hounding Me has them making ugly faces and acting out in silent movies.  Here it is in case you missed it!

So, here we are, ready to spend our two remaining days in this Oklahoma place, somewhere that is home to someone.  Wherever you may be today, help someone feel good about their home, and remember the good in yours.

I have some good news below too, because it’s Monday!

I said it before on your FB page, Deputy, I could look at you with that hat on all day!!! SO funny!! Love the whole montage!! And Sulphur, OK definitely looks like a One Horse Town, minus the horse!! Maybe it’s the name “Sulphur”??? 😉 Killer murals though. And the animals at the Rescue, all of them, but Viper and Candy with their mult-colored eyes, BEAUTIFUL!!!
P.S. Deputy, I don’t blame you or Girl Person for being afraid of that guy. He frightened me to no end, especially with his creepy “Whisper Singing’!!!! Keep an eye out for that guy along with the barking scorpions, maybe they’re in cahoots!!!!!! Love you all, enjoy your day!!! xoxoxo <3
