This is Deputy Digby Pancake. Few things make me as happy as pancakes on a winter day. Other than pancakes on a summer day, pancakes on a spring day, or pancakes on a fall day. But this Arkansas place has got us all happy. Maybe a little tooo happy.

There a few things that don’t go together… like cold weather, two dogs that are feeling their oats ( I don’t eat oats but I feel them, don’t judge me on that) and downhill mountain hikes with a Girl Person who is still wearing water shoes since hers were stolen. Add those all up and you get Girl Person sliding down a hill with two very happy dogs and other hikers trying to act shocked. Get over it hikers, we are not a free show. Well, actually we are, but I would prefer to be paid in pancakes.  Or shoes so as not to be embarrassed by Girl Person any more.  Really.  Go. Buy. Some. Shoes. Girl Person!  Perhaps you can maybe find some time to do so? We have a lot of trails to go on that aren’t appropriate for convenience store water shoes. Let’s stay together on this one.  I’m going somewhere with this.

A day like today in this Arkansas place makes me wonder.  Can you ever be toooo happy?  What if you let the sunshine soak in?  What if you let the birds singing interrupt your phone time?  What if you let that pizza calling your name be heard with extra cheese and pancakes?  Yeah, I added that.  But the question remains.  Can you ever be toooo happy?  Are you with me? Let’s stay together on this…

Sometimes I feel like persons make room for so many things in their day that matters none.  I understand you have to go to work.  Well, really, I don’t like it, but I understand.

Whatever you want to do
Is all right with me
Cause you make me feel so brand new
And I want to spend my life with you

And I understand that there are person things you have to do.  But when you let everything else crowd out the happy that is right in front of you, that is a very big loss.  You might not be able to be toooo happy because you are toooo busy. And that is a fact.

This Arkansas place so far has made us stop and listen.  We’ve listened to the birds, the crackling campfires and people that are laughing.  It has made us hear the creek as loud as it can flow, and the wind rolling over the hills.  Arkansas has made us stop and smell the fresh air and see what is truly around us.

You may not have mountains today or sunshine or even a campfire.  But what is in front of you is mighty nice.  Take a few minutes to remember what life truly was before there was so much stuff in it for you.  Because when it all comes down to it, we are all who we were when we were young, but with just more stuff to do.  But that doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be toooo happy.  You do. It is time to realize that.

Every state has taught us something so far.  And we can see that this Arkansas place has much more to tell us.  We will be here until Wednesday.  So sit back.  Relax.  Enjoy with us, and then..find your toooo happy where you are.  We would love to see it and hear about it too!
