In The Cold Kentucky Rain

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. Welcome to Kentucky! Surprised I can even talk at this point I am so exhausted. Talk about a hard day and a harder night on Monday.

Kentucky rain keeps pouring down
And up ahead’s another town
That I’ll go walking through
With the rain in my shoes,
Searchin’ for you
In the cold Kentucky rain.

You may have guessed that it is cold here in Kentucky. You may have also guessed that we were stuck in a deluge for all of the day and night yesterday. Rain isn’t so bad when you have nowhere to go. But this Big Blue Treat Wagon had to travel through the storm, we had to set up camp in the storm and we kinda got stuck in the mud. After that, we had to move camp again and we were all soaked. All tired. All cold. All hungry and enough was enough. Girl Person said we all had to pull it together. And she blasted this song. You may have guessed that she loves Elvis a little bit.

Now, Girl Person may be a bit melancholy lately. And missing our family and home. So she kinda started crying a little bit after that. Her plan to cheer us up kinda backfired.

Seven lonely days
And a dozen towns ago
I reached out one night
And you were gone
Don’t know why you’d run,
What you’re running to or from
All I know is I want to bring you home
So I’m walking in the rain,
Thumbing for a ride
On this lonely Kentucky back road
I’ve loved you much too long
And my love’s too strong
To let you go, never knowing
What went wrong

Well, enough of this. And enough of Elvis. We may be missing home. Just a little bit! But we have been looking forward to this week in Kentucky! We will certainly be hiking in some National Parks, enjoying some Kentucky food and listening to some bluegrass music!  You may be unaware that Girl Person plays the banjo…and that she loves bluegrass. And she probably doesn’t want me showing you these…but a long time ago, her and Boy Person tried to make a TV show, and although it didn’t catch on, it is quite the entertainment for me to look at the pictures bahaha!!!

Some people say that they wouldn’t change a thing in their lives because it led them up to where they are today.  Well, that is true for us, and we are in beautiful Kentucky. So after we dry out today, wash our clothes and clean up the mud, we are going to give Kentucky our undivided attention!  We are so excited to be here.  And by the way, Girl Person needs lessons.

Did I say that out loud?
