This is Deputy Digby Pancake. Did you enjoy your time in Kansas? Yes, I am asking you that because every single one of our fans is with us on this trip. So again…did you enjoy Kansas? Well, Dorothy…I hate to break it to you. But you’re not in Kansas anymore.
Who is Dorothy? People kept talking about her in Kansas. I found no yellow brick road. I found no tornado, which is good. And I found no Wizard of Oz. But if I would have, I would have asked him to make me as sweet as pancakes. Oh, I already am?
Today we head to our #28 state on the Adventure Of A Lifetime! We can’t believe it. So the state we are headed to today is a place called Nebraska. I know not one thing about Nebraska. I pretty much preferred Kansas because it is flat as a pancake, and I am not sure if Nebraska is flat as a pancake. Does it have pancakes?
Kansas treated us well. It had lots of surprises like when I surprise Girl Person by rolling in dead things or when we surprise her with random chicken bones in our mouth from the ground left over from campers. Girl Person is very frustrated at this fact. But that’s a story for another day.
We visited a really cool rescue in Kansas called Western Plains Animal Refuge where they help not only dogs and cats, but wildlife too. They believe every life matters.
We also got to eat lots of good Kansas food like the Kansas Pork BBQ For Dogs made by Girl Person. Yes, yes…she is giving you the recipe.
What we will remember most about that Kansas place are the people. The friendly, proud people who love, love, love their state. Isn’t that what all of us want? To love the place we live in? Yes, we visited towns that were small. Towns which you didn’t see anyone for miles and hours on end. What I thought was really neat was that there are still places like this in the country. Places that have not been touched by time. Places that know what is important…family, friends, and pancakes. Thank you Kansas for a great week. We will always remember you…and think of you every time we see a rainbow.
