Let’s Have A Baseball Pawty In The Big Blue Treat Wagon!

This is Peanut Butter Brickle.  No, I am not using my normal “Sheriff” distinction today.  Why?  Because for once, I am taking a day off.  We are in the Minnesota place this week, which is #21 on our “48 states, 48 rescues” Adventure Of A Lifetime tour. And wow, it is beautiful here, but it is raining today, and we thought it would be a good time for a pawty up in here.  Up in this Big Blue Treat Wagon RV! Wanna join us?

Even when you are somewhere this beautiful like Minnesota, you miss home. And we definitely are missing the Florida sunshiney.  Ahh…if we think hard maybe we can feel it.  Or maybe we can bring some Florida into the RV.

Because we are so homesick, me and Digby Pancake decided that instead of our law enforcement get ups today, we would sport our new Florida place baseball jerseys from PetSmart.  Why?  Because when you are missing home, are tired from all the traveling, visiting rescues every week AND keeping the persons in line, you deserve a day off.  Yes, I am saying I deserve it.  If you are about to argue, normally, I would arrest you but today, I am just gonna sit back and cheer on the Tampa Bay Rays.  That’s right.  You heard me. It is cold here in this Minnesota place.  But we are going to bring Florida into this RV today and warm things up with some fun.  That’s right.  My corn dog tail is waggin.

Baseball is certainly a sport I can get into.  And I have to say, I look downright breathtaking in this jersey.  Seriously though, blue must be my color along with every other color.  Digby only likes sports because he likes the snacks.  Good thing that Girl Person picked up some snacks for us to watch the games in the Big Blue Treat Wagon RV.

Why do we miss that Florida place so much? We have been on the road now since May.  We are on our #21 state.  Oh, how we loved living on the water when we were in Florida and the Tampa Bay Rays remind us of that for sure.

So you think this is a good idea right?  I always have good ideas.  And since baseball season is here, I am pretty sure that your dog would like a baseball pawty too.  In fact, I know it.  If you go to PetSmart, you can get all the stuff there or online too.  You can get your home team’s gear like jerseys, collars and leashes so your dog can get ready to cheer on your team! I’m not saying that your dog will look as good as me.  That’s just a true fact.

We know you have your own home team, and the fans we have visited so far across the country certainly love their states! So shop to find your favorite gear! They have everything you need.  And more.  Except you can’t buy my handsome. Just saying.

Did you know that before I was adopted, the Humane Society in Tampa used to take me to baseball stadiums to show me off?  I was waiting for Girl Person and Boy Person to adopt me, so I am not bitter that no one adopted me there. So when I heard about Petsmart’s new adoption program they started, I was pretty impressed, and that takes a lot.

We haven’t made it to Arizona on our Adventure Of A Lifetime yet, but maybe we should head there pretty soon.  Because we heard that PetSmart and the Arizona Diamondbacks made the first-ever season-long dog-friendly ballpark! I am serious.  Even when I take a day off from being a Sheriff, I am totally serious. Our favorite part about the park is that they have what they call a The Adopt Spot!! How cool is this? Rescue? Baseball? Winning combination. I feel like I need to talk about this for a minute. Indulge me. Treat first though.

The PetSmart new adoption center allows fans to adopt! Yes! Pet parents of newly adopted dogs receive a free D-backs-branded leash, as well as the PetSmart Adoption Kit which has coupons for training and food and treats. Yes, treats.  Always have to have treats. The kit also includes a coupon for a free bag of dog food and additional discount offers on everything a new pet parent needs including beds, bowls, collars and leashes ($400 total value). This is the first season-long pet adoption program at an MLB stadium. PetSmart is teaming up with three Phoenix-based animal welfare organizations – Arizona Humane Society, Arizona Animal Welfare League and HALO Animal Rescue.

So after all of that explaining, do you mind if I get back to my pawty here?  I mean, seriously.  I am always serious.  I know that we have a full weekend ahead in this Minnesota place.  But for today, and only today on our day off, it’s time to get down to some eatin’ and treatin’ with our PetSmart spread. Digby may already need to slow it down though…

I’m sorry you are so homesick! I know how that feels and it’s not good..also, it makes me want to eat TOO MANY treats! (Which is a problem for me, but apparently not for you!)

We cannot wait to welcome you to California! The whole other side of America from Fla. but I assure you that you will like it and it will get rid of some of that doggy homesick! Hang in there… we’re looking forward to you being here! We love it…you will too! Don’t be sad. Ms Maggie (Sonoma, CA)

Peanut Butter Brickle, you look so dapper in your Rays jersey! (And Digby Pancake looks cute as a button…Dapper only applies to you, though, Brickle.) 🙂 Glad you are taking a day off from your “work”, too. Everyone needs a day off once in a while! Enjoy your baseball game day, boys!! 🙂
