Roach Coffee. It’s A New Thing.

This is Deputy Digby Pancake.  So.  It’s been a trying few days for us starting out on our Adventure Of A Lifetime!  Getting used to living in an RV.  Trying to figure out where to settle, how to keep these stupid ticks off of us.  And then, well, the persons apparently have to learn a new way to make coffee.

In all the rush of getting on the road, the persons made sure we had a few things.  Matzo Crackers for Brickle.  My pancakes.  Peanut butter cookies.  Wine, much wine.  And coffee. They love coffee so much in fact, they get it started the night ahead.  They get everything ready so that when they sleep walk awake, they can just put it on the stove. They think they are all fancy or something and use a espresso pot.  So they fill it with water and coffee and that’s the deal. I guess roaches like it too.

So yesterday morning, there they were, drinking their fancy schmancy espresso and trying to wake up.  Boy Person remarked that the coffee tasted odd and Girl Person told him to just drink more, that they were tired and needed to wake up.  So he did. And he added more sugar. And milk and drank it up.  Drank away.  Drank, drank, drank.

Later on, Boy Person decided he would do the dishes. Yeah, just to let you know, this never happens. So don’t get all, awwww..he does dishes! No.  So anyway, he started acting all weird after doing the dishes and telling Girl Person a story.

“Hey. So did you know that in some cultures, it is a thing to put roaches in your coffee.  Like, they put it in the bottom of the coffee pot and pour hot coffee over it, let it brew and drink it.  Did you know that?”, said Boy Person.

“Ok, seriously. What in the world is wrong with you? WHAT are you talking about?”, said Girl Person.

“Yeah, so do you know what culture does this?”, said Boy Person.

“What? Seriously. I am so tired right now.  What are you talking about?”, said Girl Person.

“The CULTURE is ME and YOU.”, said Boy Person.

“Huh? What?”, said Girl Person.

He stopped.  Looked at her.  Girl Person just said…noooooooo.  Yes. Boy Person told her somehow, somewhere, a roach had gotten into the water in the coffee pot and yep.  He was brewed along with the coffee. Girl Person about fainted.  She said please stop.  Then they just busted out laughing hysterically. Boy Person told her that  maybe next time to check ten times whether a roach has gotten into a coffee pot.  Yeah, no joke. No joke.

This camping thing? Yeah, it’s going to take some getting used to.  We don’t like roaches, especially in our coffee..and the ticks gotta go.  Girl Person says wine is in order.  After she throws up.

That is so nasty! But I understand totally because I had it happen to me when I lived in Texas. And they have huge, Texas sized roaches. My mother was visiting me, she drank some coffee and almost swallowed a roach. She didn’t drink anymore coffee during rest of visit. So sorry to hear, but is going to happen if you are living in the great outdoors. It is extra protein guys. Lol

Yuck! Maybe the best thing to do about the coffee is what Patti Johnson said! As for the ticks, go to Dr. Becker at Mercola on Facebook, they sell all natural tick collars and that should help you guys a lot! Also use Revolution Heartworm prevention as that keeps both ticks and fleas at bay!
Happy trails to all of you!❤️❤️❤️

Oh, yuck!! Not what I would want to hear after my coffee. Maybe it would be a good idea if your Persons brewed their coffee before going to bed and put it into a thermos? That’s what we do. That way we have immediate caffeine gratification.

Oh. Nooooooo! I just read this after cleaning up the coffee maker and I’m not sure I would taste the difference in flavor in my coffee either I’d do exactly what you did, add more sugar, add more milk: drink it! Whoa! What did you guys do?
