Welcome To Georgia!

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle.  I am happy to report that our family has arrived in Georgia!  The first stop on our Adventure Of A Lifetime is Jekyll Island, Georgia! Can you believe it?  WE are here!

The first night of our trip was quite eventful to say the least. The persons took forever to get everything loaded up.  In fact, I had to arrest them numerous times.  However, I decided to let them go because Boy Person was the only one who could drive the RV.  And Girl Person had to drive the car behind the RV this time.  Hopefully by the next state, we will be able to tow it.

We left at about 7 p.m. and all of a sudden, the RV started overheating about an hour into the trip.  Yep, that is how things usually go for us.  Girl Person tried not to flip out, so we stopped and got her potato chips and a cherry soda.  That seemed to calm her down a bit.  Digby decided to ride with Boy Person and I went with Girl Person.  But about another hour into the trip and the Deputy was having separation anxieties from me, so both of us rode in the Jeep and all was well.  Until the RV started overheating again.  More chips. This time dill pickle ones and a candy bar.  Girl Person better hike extra today.

Since the RV was having problems, we had to drive very slow.  So it took us many, many hours.  We finally got there at about 4 in the morning, much to the dismay of the campers.  Try being quiet pulling in a big motorhome and car with two dogs that have been in a car for 9 hours.  Yep, not possible.

This was our first time setting up at camp, so we finally got to bed about 6 in the morning. I was so tired I couldn’t even eat my matzo crackers for a snack.  Girl Person was so tired that she didn’t even have wine.  The world was a mess.

But then, when we woke up this morning, we had a renewed energy! Here we were, on our new adventure! It’s going to be an adjustment.  But we love this campground here.  They have a bird sanctuary with hummingbirds and cowbirds and the such.  It was nice to just sit and listen a bit.

Then, we had fun walking around, seeing the ocean and hiking new trails. We are going to have new trails for a year! Is this really happening?

After last night, the person discussed all the problems we had.  They came to the conclusion that this trip is going to be a bunch of ups…and downs.  Breaking down, having troubles and mishaps will probably be in our future. But so will good times and fun times and exciting things! So we hope our fans enjoy everything we share with you, because this is your trip too! Are you happy to be here?  Let’s see what we can find in this state and what animals we can help! Let’s do this!

Don’t forget Georgia fans! TODAY, we will be at Forsyth Park in Savannah, Georgia by the tennis courts from 3:30-5 just to meet you and say hello! We will be there with One Love Animal Rescue and their adoptables will be there! Won’t you come and see us?

  2. Thanks for inviting us on your trip!!!

    You’re the best.

Hey, did you know Jekyll Island is the secret meeting place where the Federal Reserve system was created?

Get an audio book “The Creature From Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin. You’ll be amazed.

  3. Welcome to the world of RVing. We have been on the road for two months, and it has been one problem after another. But it is all worth it. So hang in there, and take one day at a time. Eat plenty of pancakes Digby to help Boy Person and Girl Person take it all in stride.

So glad to hear that you all made it to your first stop, Georgia! Wow, what an adventure you had just the first 24 hours of your year-long adventure! Glad that Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle was there to keep order when all was going wrong. And Deputy Digby Pancake: I know what it is like to be separated from your best buddy, so I’m glad that you and the Sheriff could ride together with your Girl Person in the Jeep. Sleep well, wonderful dogs, and I will look forward to another blog about your day tomorrow! 🙂

I am with you guys the whole way and I am excited to see where we are going and who we are meeting. I want to go camping there. Except for the bugs.

I hope you are all getting some good rest after a difficult first day. I live your stories and seeing the photos you and your adventures. Thank you for all the good you are doing. Love you!!

Love hearing about your big adventure. Be good to your persons, they have limited hearing and smell organs so you have to help them.
